Kenya Water Well Project

Water Projects-05
This year we were able to drill three bore holes, 80 –120 meters deep, to establish clean water wells for three rural communities. Prior to the wells, people had to carry water often for miles from the contaminated river, their only water source.
In addition to the drinking water, the wells provide for irrigation of land. Successful cultivation of this area will help the local economy and help lift the communities out of poverty.
While not completed yet we were able to get a generator-operated pump in one of the sites, but we still need to build housing for the generator as well as a structure to lift up the water tanks to create water pressure, which allows for a larger distribution of water. The other two sites will need a generator-operated pump as well.

Water Projects -06
The Well at Kiminini Deliverance Church is doing well and is serving clean water to about 3000 people in the vicinity. The men at church built a structure to hold up the huge water tanks and also another structure to house the generator, the power source for the pump. The water flows from the well by turning a spigot and for a nominal fee people can fill up their buckets. The fees are used to supply fuel for the generator.
The other two boreholes are done and we are now in the process of finishing up these two sites by installing the appropriate pumps on each site within the next couple of months. The people of these two communities are so looking forward to the day when the water flows from these two wells.
