While in Kenya we conducted a three-day participatory seminar on this topic to educate a group of women, who in turn will be able to educate others in their communities. The curriculum (www.lifewater.org) included the following: how to protect their water, understanding the cycle of diarrhea and how to stop it, importance of hand washing, preparing oral re-hydration solution using ingredients at hand, and how to identify causes of illness in their communities and how to make the necessary lifesaving changes. The seminar was received with great interest and enthusiasm.
