What an exciting and inspiring event this was! The theme of the Symposium was "Knowledge Management, Resource Mobilization and Sustained HIV/AIDS Research in Low-income Countries – The Case of Sub-Saharan Africa”. The very successful event was organized by AEMRN (Afro-European Medical and Research Network) and chaired by Dr. Alena Petrakova from WHO, Geneva. Marjaana and Debbie attended and Marjaana did a power-point presentation on the topic “Community Based Initiatives Including Combating HIV/AIDS in Kitale, Kenya”, which was well received. OWI also had an exhibit there featuring our key projects. The Symposium participants represented several African and European countries. The networking with medical professionals and various organizations was very encouraging and energizing. We join whole-heartedly in the AEMRN motto “Together we can make it happen”!
